You need to go through several medical requirements to become a pilot in Pakistan. First of all, you need to secure a medical certificate. The medical certificate is documentary proof. It proves that one is fully fit to become a pilot. He can fly high.
Three different kinds of medical certificates with distinct privileges are there:
- Class 1-(Required for Commercial Pilot’s License.)
- Class 2-(Required for Private Pilot’s License.)
- Class 3-(Required for Glider Flying.)
Civil Aviation Medical Boards (CAMB) are constituted at distinct locations in Pakistan to conduct medical examinations.

- Lung function test
- Hemoglobin blood test
- Urine test
- Cholesterol test
- Chest X-ray
- Vision test
- Color vision test
- Eyeball pressure measurement (Tonometry)
- Height- Flying schools take a minimum length requirement of 157.5 cm and a maximum length of 203 cm.
- Weight- Body Mass Index (BMI) is the only limitation in this test, which should not be more than 35.
Is disqualification possible?
Yes, it is possible to be disabled. But many tests are less likely because they look at this disorder if they are not complicated and can be managed with simple treatment, in which case they will not disqualify you. But in case of serious problems, you will not be able to become a pilot in Pakistan.
After passing all these tests, you will become a pilot in Pakistan. Because fitness changes now and then, you still have to get a complete body check-up every year after becoming a pilot in Pakistan.
